Play is the work of the young child. Sprouts encourages participation rather than performance as children become involved in developmentally appropriate activities.

Music, critical to brain development, introduces children to a wide variety of percussion instruments and musical styles that express lyrical messages of peace and diversity in our world! The exposure to music allows children the creativity and expression that is so important at a young age.

Classes are well-structured to give the children a sense of security. Because they cannot tell time, they are reassured by knowing “what comes next”. Play-Music involves storytime, movement, singing, dancing, early learning recognition, socialization and creativity!

Art

We tap drums, shake maracas, and explore a variety of instruments. We twirl scarves and ribbon wands. We explore and “practice” bubble making and work together as a “team” for parachute fun. Sprouts also allows time for exploration and social interaction in the soft play area.

Fees

Along the way, American Sign Language (ASL) is incorporated into the play-music class and at age appropriate levels. Children as young as 9 mos can learn ASL for basic needs thus bridging the communication gap prior to their ability to speak. Research shows that signing children actually speak sooner and have better language skills. Older children benefit from ASL to enhance language skills …not to mention, it sends their IQ through the roof! Play/Music is divided into age groups and children attend with a parent or caregiver
